Lucia and Roberto opened a single storefront bakery in 1986. Over the years, grano (small "g") has grown to three store fronts - a lively, colourful main room with paintings, posters, and ceramics adorning the walls, hand-painted tables, quiet corners, our year-round covered rustic courtyard, secluded outdoor garden seatings, a private room, and aged (...uneven...) wood floors - and lauded as both a cultural hub for all things Italian and Toronto. We continue to bake all breads, focaccia, pizza, desserts in house. We sell specialty Italian products in our negozietto, celebrate regional Italian traditions, support local producers, and use sustainable seafood.
A heartfelt thank you to our patrons past and present for your support and dedication,
and for allowing us to have fun with you and your families for the past 31 years (May 2017).
Un abbraccio forte di cuore per la vita che ci avete dato.
